Why you should book a Brand Photographer whilst creating or refreshing your website

Are about to embark on creating a new website or working with a graphic designer on a new logo and brand ? So why is it a good idea to book a professional personal branding photo-shoot at the same time ?

It’s especially important now in this world of social media to have a good cohesive brand to make you stand out from what is normally a saturated market.

Your website is your shop front and normally the first impression you will give a potential client. Whilst it is important to have good quality images on your site, it’s just as important to have on brand images that showcase you and your brand. Stock images do sometimes have their place but they are generic and used by many businesses and most importantly will not show YOU. Adding personality to your images make them more interesting and add character and will in turn attract your ideal client.s

When I work with my brand client’s one of the first things I will ask is if they are also working with a web designer or graphic designer and if so it’s super important that we connect and work together to ensure we both create perfect on brand images along with the website/logo. These images can then be used not only for your website but also to enable you to show up on social media.

You don’t want your social media posts to be completely different to the look of your website, or your professional images to clash with the tones and colours on your website. As such, when creating a brand shoot, we need to be thinking about not only your colour scheme but also your style, the feel of the images, the clothes you wear, the venue and even the props to ensure that we create cohesive on brand images for you.

When creating this shoot for Emma at Acer Town Planning, we discussed everything about her business, her brand values and most important her as a person. I spent time getting to know and understand Emma and also worked with her logo and website designers to ensure that we created a style and images that worked together.

Based on the images we took, her logo designer Lynda from Decafnomilk was able to get a clear feel for Emma’s tones and colours and perfectly put together and created her amazing logo. Her new website created by Lodge Digital looks amazing and everything blends in beautifully.

Here is the design pallet from Decaf No Milk…..

Lynda from Decaf No Milk - ”A picture paints a thousand words’ the saying goes, and I couldn’t agree more. As a brand designer and website builder, text heavy content is my nemesis. Having brand photography from Emma when creating branding and websites for my clients has not only helped me to consolidate the look and feel of the business and create design that engages the target audience, but it can make the real difference between a mediocre website and a top-class one.”
