THE BECKS !!!!
I can’t quite believe I got to photograph another couple who are childhood sweethearts, and gosh you can so tell too. Not only are they made for each other, but all the friends and family know each other so well and certainly have lots of tales to tell during the speeches ! Don’t worry though, I won’t say anymore about the speeches other than they were so bloody funny, I struggled holding my camera still through laughing so much.
So I already knew a little about Stephen and Sarah even though I had never met them, as I worked with Stephen’s sister Amanda when I worked in Law before making the leap to a full time photographer. I was over the moon when they contacted me to photograph their wedding, as I knew they would be lovely if they were related to Amanda, as she is such a caring and funny person who I sincerely miss working along side.
Anyway, we met up over coffee and chatted about the wedding plans and I was so pleased when they confirmed they wanted me to photograph the wedding.
Following each of my weddings I ask my bride and grooms to answer a series of short questions to help with my blog and to make it more personal for each wedding. It also gives people reading my blogs a little testimonial which is such an important thing when choosing your photographer.
Where did you both meet ?
Tell me about the proposal
As we were buying our new car at the BMW garage, as I opened the door to the car the ring was on the drivers seat.
What was most important to you when planning your wedding day ?
That everyone we loved was there and had fun.
What made you choose your wedding venue ?
The ceremony room with the twinkly lights and drapes, I loved the feel of it!
Why did you choose Emma Boyle Photography ?
Stephens sister recommended her, then as soon as we met her I loved how down to earth she was!
How did Emma Boyle fit in/work with your wedding day ?
Beautifully! It was a pleasure having you there, you fit in like you were one of the girls in the morning then nothing was too much trouble throughout the day! Fantastic!
Do you have any planning tips you would like to share ?
No never quite mastered that.
Tell me your top 3 moments of the day
Walking down the aisle. The meal and speeches. Dancing and enjoying the night with everyone!
The Big Day
On the morning of the wedding I met Sarah and her bridesmaids who were all getting ready at the venue. They were all wearing matching dressing gowns which was so cute, like a scene from one of my favourite films Grease. You could tell how good friends they were having such a laugh and how emotional they all got when Sarah gave them all presents.
I also managed to sneak away for a minute of two and capture a few pictures of Stephen and their son Archie getting ready which was just adorable.
The ceremony was held in a lovely room and I can see now why Sarah loved it too, with the twinkly fairy lights it just looked so pretty. It was lovely for Sarah & Stephens little boy Archie to watch his mummy and daddy get married, although I think he was more interested in his favourite toy Buzz Lightyear.
Following the ceremony everyone headed outside for a celebration drink and one of my favourite moments which was the confetti shot !
I have to say, it was very windy and a bit chilly out at the front of the hotel but Sarah, Stephen and the bridesmaids and groomsmen were such good sports and were happy to have a few fun shots in front of the old out buildings.
We then headed back in for a lovely meal and yep speeches time. Now I said before I wouldn’t say much, other than having 2 best man is certainly the way forward. I have to say this was one of the funniest speeches I have heard yet, well done guys !
The Paarrrrty !
If possible I always aim to stay to capture a few pictures of the dance floor following the first dance and it is always so worth it !
