DOMINIC + MELISSA’S VICTORIA WAREHOUSE WEDDING
MANCHESTER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
I met Dominic & Melissa at the Victoria Warehouse wedding fair and was chuffed to bits when they asked me to photograph there wedding. We met in Manchester’s Northern Quarter for a pre-wedding shoot, which although I knew Dominic was a little apprehensive he absolutely loved it by the end (a little too much hey Melissa 😉 )Check it out here
So onto the wedding and what an amazing day it was. Sun was out, happy faces all around and set in one of the most amazing venues (in my opinion) in Manchester. I love an urban wedding and that mixed with Melissa’s 1920’t style was just stunning.
Wedding preparations were underway when I arrived, so gave me a little time to capture all the going’s on of the morning and guests arriving. The ceremony was beautiful, fairy lights all over and candle lit, just perfect. We only took a small amount of time for groups shots so everyone could enjoy themselves and although Melissa and Dominic love the photo journalistic style images, we also managed to capture some really natural, fun and quirky portrait shots of them both.
Guys I had an absolutely fantastic day at your wedding, it felt like I was capturing a friends wedding, not a couple I had only met once or twice before. Here are my favourite images from the day.
A few words from he bride and groom:-
Where did you both meet ?
Tell me about the proposal
Dom proposed down on one knee in Ibiza after the sunset had gone down with a bottle of champagne.
What was most important to you when planning your wedding day ?
That it was simple and just a big party so everyone had fun.
In three words describe the style of your wedding and did you have a theme ?
We had an industrial, vintage, 1920’s theme. Three words I would describe are simple, fun and memorable.
What made you choose your wedding venue ?
We loved the industrial feel. It was different and we loved how we could make it our own with decoration. We’re not a country couple so wanted city centre to suit us.
Why did you choose Emma Boyle Photography ?
We met her at a wedding fayre at the venue and instantly liked her style of photos, the fact she knew the venue and that she was relaxed and we clicked with her. She made us feel very comfortable.
How did Emma Boyle fit in/work with your wedding day ?
Great, she was ther when we needed her and also worked the room to get lots of natural photos. If we asked her for a staged one she did it, but also let us enjoy our day and did photos around that. She was just lovely and easy to have in the room in the morning with the bridesmaids.
Do you have any planning tips you would like to share ?
Don’t leave things to the last minute, be prepared and you can relax on the day. Keep it simple as the day is so busy you don’t need too much fuss. Don’t try and do too yourself for the day, we used an event company and it took the stress out of the day.
Tell me your top 3 moments of the day
1. For the bride, walking down the aisle with my dad and for the groom seeing me in my dress for the first time. 2. The best man speech. 3. Just having a good drink, dance and party with all our friends.
